Our neighbors south of the border will tell you if you have bare root Tuber root type plant in the yucca family to let soak in the sun for two weeks before transplanting .

This yucca tree was surgically removed with a chain saw. I waited a day or two and on a weekend day inset in a bucket and amended with mineral supplements first. Falloff was shredded with my mower, for ground cover for insulation and later, attract microbe activity; at least to invoke fiber as a bait.
This is the procedure in my plant life, as a result instead recycled to a grinder, this tree will have a second chance in life.
